New Honor Society Members Announced
Membership in CMAA’s Honor Society is open to club managers who have achieved 400 additional credits beyond certification with a minimum of 150 credits from CMAA/CMI-endorsed education programs; have been active members for a minimum of nine years; and who have successful completed of BMI IV or BMI V. We are pleased to recognize Donald P. Emery, CCM, CCE and Sharon Murphy, CCM, CCE on their recent induction into this prestigious level of professional affiliation. Congratulations!

Health Care Reform: Form 1099 requirements
The Form 1099 requirements mandate that all businesses and tax-exempt organizations issue a Form 1099 to vendors from whom they buy goods totaling $600 or more annually. The change, scheduled to take effect in 2012, could result in businesses having to issue hundreds or even thousands of forms each year, track cumulative payments to vendors and obtain tax identification information from each vendor. Momentum is gaining for a possible legislative fix. More 

International Wine Society Scholarship deadline
The Warren L. Arseneaux Honorary Scholarship, established in 2007, provides tuition for a CMAA International Wine Society member who has a passion and love for wine, and is interested in continuing his or her professional development. The scholarship covers the BMI Wine and Food Experience at the Culinary Institute of America's Greystone Campus (or other education opportunity as approved by the IWS Board of Managers). The application deadline is Friday, Oct. 1. For more information and an application go to the website.


2011 Membership Renewals
Current CMAA members should have received their 2011 membership renewal notice in the mail. Members are encouraged to renew online or by mailing your payment to CMAA National at 1733 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Florida Chapter dues invoices will be forwarded to members in the coming month.

Michael McCarthy and Michael Seabrook, CCM have been selected to serve as the Host Chapter Chairmen for CMAA’s 84th World Conference & Club Business Expo. The 2011 conference will be held February 24 – 28, at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando. Conference highlights include:
