The Florida Club Chapter prides itself
on our commitment to give back to
our local communities.

In 2010, FLCMAA renewed our commitment to The Club Foundation
with a $100,000 pledge, participated and funded the 2009 Florida Golf Economic Impact Study and raised
more than $600,000 for local charities.

Our regions and member clubs
continue their commitment to serve
by
supporting local and national charities, employing community
citizens and supporting local and national economies.

2010 Tee it Up For the Troops Day
The 6th Annual National Day of Golf to support Tee it Up For the Troops is scheduled for September 10, 2010, and all CMAA members are encouraged to get their facilities to participate. Tee It Up For The Troops was established in 2005 by the family and friends of a soldier who enlisted in the U.S. Army after September 11, 2001. When the son was asked by his father what he needed, the son responded by asking his father to do something for the soldiers and their families back home.  Tee It Up For The Troops, Inc. was created to honor that request and to recognize the needs of all veterans who have served and continue to serve this great nation. For more information or to find out how you can participate, log online at www.TeeItUpForTheTroops.com or via Facebook at www.facebook.com/teeitupforthetroops

Golf Tournaments/Fundraisers

Each of the Florida Chapter’s regions host a golf tournament or fundraiser to benefit local charities. In 2009, more than $600,000 was raised to benefit charities such as the Special Olympics Florida, Arnold Palmer’s Children’s Hospital, Children’s Miracle Network, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Toys for Tots, SOS Children’s Village, The Wishing Well Foundation, All Children’s Hospital, and the Ronald McDonald House.

Food Drives
In April 2009, each club in the Florida Chapter network was encouraged to hold a Community Food Drive. As Florida residents leave their communities to move North for the Summer season, club members were asked to donate food items for a local food collection agency. Each club was responsible for collecting the food and donating it to a local cause. In total, Florida clubs collected 6,482 pounds of food for their local communities.

Habitat for Humanity
Chapter members were encouraged to participate in various Habitat for Humanity programs in their local communities. The Everglades Region participated in two workshop days where repairs and siding were added to a new home in Lee County. A group of Vero Beach Club Managers also participated in a Habitat for Humanity project on the East coast.

Haiti Relief Effort
In January 2010, a devastating earthquake hit southern Haiti. Florida clubs employ more than 1,000 Haitian employees and knew that they needed to do their part to assist in the relief efforts. To date, $500,000 has been raised by Florida Chapter clubs in addition to hundreds of pounds of clothing, food and medical supplies. Click here for more details
