Current Roles:
 Constitute a Bylaws Committee to undertake a review of Chapter Bylaws with the goal of creating a document outlining proposed changes and updates to them.
This document will ultimately be presented to the Board of Directors for review before a final recommendation and vote by the membership. Work with the Chapter Managing Director and President to identify areas within the existing Bylaws that may need significant revision and/or improvement. click here for more

2010 Committee Goal:  Review list of prospective CCM, CCE and Honor Society candidates and educate members on the importance of pursuing such cerification. Work closely with Education commitee members to ensure that professional development offerings reflect the nine competency areas for certification. Develop a document for members to use when marketing to Boards and key decision makers, regarding the value and importance of educational payback from pursuing the CCM or CCE certification.

 Encourage members to take advantage of various scholarship opportunities offered through the National Club Foundation – all of which help offset costs associated with educational opportunities.  Continue to build awareness of the Foundation and develop a marketing piece that shows how the Florida Chapter Club Foundation pledge is being used to support our mission.

Current Roles:
Coordinate the statewide effort to support the annual Toys for Tots drive initiative of local Marine Corps Reserve units. This may involve arranging for representatives
in each Region of the State. Work with the State Public Relations/Communications Chairman to encourage and solicit FLCMAA members to participate in this annual drive by arranging for drop off sites at each of their clubs. click here for more

2010 Committee Goal:
 Community awareness is so important and one that can be done in our own neighborhoods. Highlight ways that clubs can support local community service efforts – food drives, Habitat for Humanity projects, etc and forward to Florida Chapter members. Provide Chapter office with any feedback received from various clubs and regions that have participated in CCC programs so they receive the appropriate recognition and PR. Each region will also be encouraged to hold one fundraiser in addition to your charity golf tournament.

Current Roles: Plan and arrange for the Chapter’s educational workshop programs at each of the three Chapter Weekend Conferences (June, July and September), ensuring that the educational programs provide for maximum opportunity to address necessary competency areas covered by the CCM exam, and for CMI approved continuing education credits. Chairs the Chapter Education Committee, comprised of Educational Chairs from each of the five regions, which will meet periodically to coordinate efforts and share ideas and initiatives. This Committee will meet at the Chapter Leadership Conference and at least one other occasion during the year. click here for more

2010 Committee Goal: Diversify educational offerings following the nine competency area required for CCM certification. Publish all regional and chapter education offerings on the FLCMAA website by October 31st of the year.  Encourage each region to coordinate a panel discussion with industry experts – club managers, golf professionals, controllers, superintendent, fitness and spa person.  Ensure that Summer education conferences continue to follow a “family-friendly” schedule allowing members to have appropriate education and networking opportunities.  Work closely with chapter office to file necessary paperwork for the Excellence in Education award.

 Work with the by-laws committee to ensure that specific ethics criteria are reflected in updates make to the bylaws.  Chairs are encouraged to act quickly on any complaints that may arise and assure that all details are considered before contacting the parties involved.

Current Roles: Help unemployed managers, and managers seeking career changes, to identify opportunities available to them, or where to find necessary resources to assist them in this regard. Educate clubs and search committees looking for general managers and managers on how to locate potential candidates through CMAA and FLCMAA. This may involve traveling to clubs personally to meet face to face to discuss potential ways of helping them to identify qualified candidates.

2010 Committee Goal: Work with the Chapter and National office to provide career related information to both employed and unemployed managers.  Develop an action plan for working with managers who are in a job transition to ensure that they are receiving the necessary assistance and support with their search.  Consider adding additional job search related element sot the website (resume etc).

 Develop a follow-up report that Regional Directors and Administrators can complete after a success event or program.  This report may include the following information: As description of the event/project; how the event was run or how the idea was implemented; how the event/project enhanced the chapter; the general reaction of the chapter members; and a list of key managers who participated in the event/project. This information will assist in developing the Idea Fair boards for the September 2010 competition.

Legislative Affairs

Monitor legislation affecting the club industry, both in the State of Florida and nationally. Communicate with Chapter members on an ‘as-needed’ basis regarding any of this legislation that needs input, support, response or other action by individuals or the Chapter as a whole. Work with the Public Relations/Communications Chairman, Chapter Managing Director and President to inform Chapter members of these important legislative issues.

2010 Committee Goal: Ensure timely legislative information is communicated to FLCMAA member’s through the chapter website.  Serve as a contact for the Golf 20/20 Economic Impact task force.  See that the results of this study are communicated to our local and state legislators effectively and that we share the same message as other task force members.

2010 Committee Goal: Membership recruitment and retention will be a large focus of our chapter’s foals in 2009-2010.  Together with the chapter office, develop a marketing piece that will educate boards and prospective members on the importance of CMAA affiliation.
