As if dealing with member demands was not enough, GM/COOs of private clubs are also tasked with ensuring their multimillion-dollar corporations do not encounter legal issues from employees, members, and guests. As such, these leaders must make decisions about how to run their clubs without exposing them to more traditional (and even nontraditional) liability concerns. This presentation will explore specific club legal and HR areas that must receive extra attention from club management. We will look at how to correctly classify your workers, how to resolve gender identity issues from members and guests and even how to deal with state laws regarding employees' marijuana use. Without doubt, club leaders have a lot on their plate – aside from making budget or presiding over the creation of a new masterplan. This interactive session will provide club staff with up-to-date legal and HR information to help them protect their clubs from unwanted litigation.
